A collaboration between Jakki and Yangzi has led to an exciting new paper in iScience. Using miniscope calcium imaging, they explored how the mouse medial prefrontal cortex processes multiple experiences that took place within a shared environment. Their findings demonstrate that prefrontal neurons adaptively update their activity and maintain a stable mental representation of the environment, even after new or unexpected events occur.
